Serena is a Senior Vice President in Segal’s Washington, DC office with over 20 years of experience in employee benefit plan compliance. She develops and manages the Company’s retirement plan compliance services and is the National Retirement Compliance Practice Leader.

Prior to joining Segal, Serena was engaged in the private practice of law in Washington, DC, specializing in issues under the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA.

Serena received her JD with High Honors from the Duke University School of Law and her BA is from Duke University. She has been admitted to the Bar in the District of Columbia. Ms. Simons is active in the Taxation Section of the District of Columbia Bar and the Tax Section Employee Benefits Committee of the American Bar Association. She is a member of the IRS Mid-Atlantic Pension Liaison Group. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel.
