Jesse is a Vice President and Actuary in the Retirement practice in Segal’s Minneapolis office. He has nearly 15 years of experience in actuarial consulting.
Jesse’s responsibilities include supervising and reviewing multiemployer pension valuations and other related special projects, including deterministic and stochastic projections, live modeling, plan design and experience studies. He has significant expertise regarding variable annuity pension plans (VAPPs). Jesse has become a regional and national resource regarding Trustee education, plan design, benefit adequacy, transition from non-variable legacy design, VAPP benefit smoothing, funding policies/projections and design/cost monitoring. He is also involved in updating and maintaining Segal’s Multiemployer Universe benchmarking tool.
Prior to joining Segal, Jesse was an Actuarial Consultant at another large benefits consulting firm where he provided actuarial consulting services and support to various multiemployer, corporate and public sector clients. In this position, he was responsible for supervising and reviewing plan administration services, government filings and other actuarial cost studies and projections.
Jesse graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS in Mathematics, Actuarial Science. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary.
