Matt is a Vice President, Healthcare Informatics in Segal’s National Health Consulting & Analytics group, affiliated with the San Francisco office. He has 15 years of experience in healthcare, providing direct patient care, managing pharmacy benefit services and performing clinical analyses. He also has experience in data analytics and predictive modeling.

Matt directly supports SHAPE client engagements and contributes to the development and enhancement of SHAPE service offerings.

Prior to Segal, Matt provided clinical analyses, utilization management services and benefit management recommendations for two Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) organizations. In these positions. Matt modeled the impact of benefit design changes on members and prescription utilization.

Prior to his work in the PBM industry, Matt worked in various roles for the Department of Defense, including formulary and medication management and direct patient care in both the ambulatory and inpatient settings. Matt also worked as a clinical pharmacy specialist in intensive care and adult emergency medicine after completing an acute care residency. He has experience as a pharmacist in the retail setting, directly interacting with patients and providing medication therapy counseling.

Matt received a Doctor of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University and later obtained a MS in Analytics from Georgia Institute of Technology. Matt is a licensed pharmacist and board-certified in pharmacotherapy by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.
