John is a Vice President and Regional Director of Compliance Research in Segal's Princeton office. He is an ERISA/employee benefits attorney with more than 30 years of experience in the areas of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans (including defined contribution and defined benefit plans), health and welfare benefit plans, executive compensation arrangements, compensation planning and employee fringe benefits.

John works with Segal’s largest clients in all markets, often collaborating directly with ERISA counsel as a resource for responding to issues surfaced by the IRS, DOL and PBGC in the ongoing operation of benefit programs.

John also has specialized expertise in federal and state income taxation and estate planning. He performs research and oversees compliance directly with clients as well as in a supervisory capacity.

Prior to joining Segal, John worked in the financial services industry with Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and MetLife. During his tenure with these firms, Mr. Graham performed compliance functions in the areas of employee benefits, wealth transfer and income taxation.

John received a BA in Political Science from Brandeis University and a JD from Rutgers University School of Law.

John has published a number of articles and has lectured on a variety of topics in the areas of employee benefits, estate planning and income taxation.
