Internships at Segal

Want to explore consulting? Learn from our seasoned professionals and discover if our meaningful work and collaborative culture are a good fit for your talents.

You’ll have opportunities to learn and gain hands-on work experience

Our internships provide students with meaningful business experience to enhance their academic education and prepare for post-graduate careers. You’ll be able to contribute meaningfully to our work.

Because we value their contributions, we always pay our interns.

In addition to their work with a business team, interns collaborate with one another on practical group projects related to challenges our clients are facing. The project teams present their projects to Segal leaders.

Interns also participate in a speaker series to learn about various aspects of our business.

“The speaker series gave us the opportunity to hear from leaders across various cultural and professional backgrounds. Seeing how committed they are to effecting genuine change with each interaction — both with clients and us as interns — made it clear to me that Segal's culture truly welcomes and celebrates diverse perspectives as well as professional excellence.”

Tonia W. (former intern, now an Actuarial Associate)

Who can apply?

We offer internships to undergraduate and graduate students. Our summer 2026 interns represent 27 educational institutions across the country. They have a wide range of academic backgrounds — including undergraduates, graduate students, law students and PharmD candidates.

Where you might work as an intern

We encourage every part of our business to consider working with interns.

Consequently, we’ve had interns across a broad spectrum of our organization, including:

Participation in our internship program is growing

We introduced a formal internship program in 2018.

Since then, more than 250 students have participated.

One internship may lead to another!

Some of our interns enjoy their experience enough to choose to participate in more than one internship with us.

Here’s how a couple of our summer 2026 interns explained why they chose to return to Segal:

  • “I'm excited to be back again as a Summer Intern in 2026. I really enjoyed my experience at the firm because of how interesting and wide-ranging the work is. Working with and learning about a broad range of investment strategies and funds further strengthened my interest in investment management and made returning to Segal an easy decision.” — Justin F.
  • “I decided to return to Segal as I really enjoyed working with my colleagues and liked the work that I did.” — Connor J.

An internship may lead to an offer of full-time employment

Interns are not just summer help; they are an investment in Segal’s future. Interns who perform well are considered for full-time hires when they are ready to graduate. The number of full-time hires from our Internship Program continues to increase.

In 2025, we extended full-time offers to select rising seniors or graduate student interns, and 87 percent said “yes!”

We’re proud of our long history of valuing students’ contributions to our business

Although our formal internship program is eight years old, our experience working with interns spans decades. Robert D. Krinsky, a Chair Emeritus of our Board of Directors, who served as President from 1982 to 1993, started as an intern more than 70 years ago.
