Susan is a Vice President and Senior Consultant in Segal's insurance brokerage practice. Based in the New York office, she leads Segal's insurance practice capabilities for Property & Casualty insurance.

Susan has been in the insurance industry for more than 30 years and has extensive experience as a broker, underwriter and consultant, thus capable of seeing an exposure from many vital viewpoints. Her focus is to provide clients with innovative solutions to their risk management challenges and to provide coordination of internal and external resources to meet and exceed customers’ needs and expectations.

Susan background allows her to assist with the design of cost-effective insurance programs and to coordinate value-added services to complement the goals of each client. She has experience in handling a diverse range of commercial insurance risks and is skilled in evaluating a client’s risks to secure comprehensive coverage.

To complement her substantive experience, Susan has spent many years managing various teams and initiatives, taking great pride in developing others to reaching their optimal performance.

Prior to joining Segal, Susan worked at SterlingRisk for three years as the Director of Select Business, where she oversaw the operations of the entire small business division. Prior to that, she spent over a decade with HUB International as the Manager of the Real Estate Programs Division. She has a plethora of experience on the carrier side of the industry, having worked for Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company, CNA Insurance Company and Merchants Mutual Insurance Company.

Susan holds a Property & Casualty resident license in the state of New York as well as 14 nonresident Property & Casualty licenses.

Susan has written several Segal articles, including “Floods Happen Everywhere. How Adequate Is Your Insurance?,” March 2023, “Flood Damage Can Inundate Your Organization. Be Prepared,” March 2022 and “Flood Risk Is Rising,” March 2021.
