A recent article in the Harvard Business Review asks if we are really that necessary to our jobs. “…[We’re]overwhelmed and over-busy, responding to every request, ring and ping with the urgency of a fireman responding to a six-alarm fire. Are we really that necessary?” The author’s intent is to get you to prepare emotionally for retirement by becoming “irrelevant,” and find freedom and authenticity as a silver lining. Do you focus on getting employees ready for retirement in ways other than being financially ready?
