Limited wraparound coverage under the Affordable Care Act supplements coverage obtained through certain individual health insurance policies. The coverage can be made available under a Pilot Program. (See Segal’s June 4, 2015 Update.)
On June 25, 2018, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published a form that sponsors of limited wraparound coverage can use for the reporting that’s required in order for the coverage to qualify as an excepted benefit.
Plan sponsors must file a form for each type of limited wraparound coverage offered. The deadline is August 24, 2018 (60 days after the form was published) or 60 days after the first day of the first plan year that the coverage is first offered, whichever is later.
Download the form and instructions.
The form, as well as additional information and resources related to the Affordable Care Act, are available from The Center for Consumer Information & Insurance Oversight page on the CMS website.
