Mr. Litwin is a Senior Vice President and Consulting Actuary in Segal’s New York office. Mr. Litwin has more than 30 years of actuarial and consulting experience. He provides a range of actuarial and consulting services to some of the firm’s largest corporate clients, including companies in the aerospace and communications industries.

Mr. Litwin joined The Segal Group’s Office of the Chief Actuary in 2010. He is the firm’s lead resource on technical actuarial issues for single-employer pension and retiree health plans.

Prior to joining Segal in 1996, Mr. Litwin had more than a decade of actuarial and experience with another major consulting firm.

Mr. Litwin received a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, an MS in Mathematics from New York University’s Courant Institute and a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the City University of New York Graduate School. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary.

Mr. Litwin actively participates in various actuarial organizations. He is a member of the Retirement Plans Experience Committee of the Society of Actuaries, as well as a past member of the Pension Committee of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is a member of the Blue Book Committee, which poses questions to staff of the PBGC and summarizes their responses, as well as a past member of the Gray Book Committee, which similarly posed questions to staff of the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service and summarized their responses. The resulting Blue and Gray Books have been provided to all attendees of the annual Enrolled Actuaries Meeting and are essential references for pension practitioners.

Mr. Litwin has authored numerous articles for Segal publications, as well as an article for the Enrolled Actuaries Report about Treasury and IRS regulations on minimum funding and benefit restrictions.

Mr. Litwin has been a speaker at several recent Enrolled Actuaries and Society of Actuaries Meetings.
