New York (1/13/14) — Joseph A. LoCicero, President and CEO of The Segal Group, announced that Kirsten Schatten, ASA, MAAA, has joined the firm’s East Region as a Vice President and Associate Health Actuary. Ms. Schatten has more than 20 years of experience as a consultant and actuary for health plans. She has held several actuarial consulting positions, most recently as Vice President with Aon Hewitt in Atlanta where she worked with state governments on all facets of actuarial and health consulting issues including State Health Plans and Medicaid Plans.
Mr. LoCicero commented, “Kirsten’s addition to our rapidly growing public sector health practice enhances the services that we bring to these clients. We are always seeking to provide services our clients need in facing the challenges confronting them daily. We are very pleased to add Kirsten to our public sector team.”

Ms. Schatten holds a BBA from the University of Georgia and a Masters in Actuarial Science from Georgia State University. She is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
