New York (10/15/14) — On October 15, 1939, Martin E. Segal opened a one-room office in New York City across the street from the Empire State Building. In the 75 years since, the Martin E. Segal Company has grown into The Segal Group, a leading firm of benefit, compensation and human resources consultants.
“The Segal Group’s 75th anniversary allows us to reflect on the tremendous growth and success of the firm since 1939, including our expansion of services and development of innovative benefits practices that were first conceived, designed and introduced by Segal,” commented Segal Group President & CEO Joseph A. LoCicero.
The firm has grown from two employees (Mr. Segal and his sister, Esther) to nearly 1,000 employees in offices throughout the United States and Canada.
“As we move forward, we will maintain our short term and long term view of our business and the world,” said LoCicero. “We will continue to put our clients first while recognizing that our people are our best assets and we will continue to adapt to change, a strong trait of our firm that has allowed us to be successful for 75 years.”
