J. Richard Johnson, Segal Consulting senior vice president and National Public Sector Health Practice Leader, was named Associate Member of the Year by the State and Local Government Benefits Association (SALGBA) at their annual conference in Memphis, Tennessee on Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
“Rick has been a continually valuable contributor to SALGBA over the years; speaking at our major events and serving as a resource for all our members,” said Tina Bowling, Executive Director of SALGBA. “We are thrilled to present him with this award in recognition of his efforts on behalf of our organization and the public sector benefits field.”
Mr. Johnson was presented with the award at the annual meeting’s luncheon. Cathie Eitelberg, Segal senior vice president and National Public Sector Market Director, introduced him via videoconference. “During Rick’s nearly 40-year career, he has consulted to health plans that cover tens of thousands of public-sector workers,” said Eitelberg. “At many SALGBA conferences, he has been known to have ‘session full’ signs placed on the door of his breakout sessions and has graciously served as a moderator of many panels.”
Mr. Johnson frequently consults on active and retiree health benefit programs and compliance with the Affordable Care Act. He works with numerous federal, state and local government healthcare plans and serves as Segal’s East Region Public Sector Practice Leader.
