NEW YORK (10/16/12) – Joseph A. LoCicero, President & CEO of The Segal Company has announced that Judith F. Mazo, retired Senior Vice President and Director of Research for Segal, was presented with the John L. Lewis Award by Phyllis C. Borzi, Assistant Secretary for Employee Benefits Security of the United States Department of Labor, at the recent national conference of the National Coordinating Committee for Multiemployer Plans. In June 2001, the NCCMP created this annual award named for the former UMWA President who was an influential leader in the multiemployer plan arena. The John L. Lewis Award recognizes the contributions of an individual or organization whose achievements in the multiemployer arena exemplify those of its namesake. Judy has been a true leader in the field – through her decades of service at Segal, as an attorney specializing in ERISA and with the office of the general counsel at the PBGC.
